Employee background:

In 2003, I graduated with a BSN from Auburn University at Montgomery. I was fortunate to discover my passion for oncology early in my career. After 10 years of caring for oncology patients as an RN, I completed my MSN at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014 and became certified as a family nurse practitioner. I practiced as a nurse practitioner in urgent care for two years then returned to medical oncology in 2016. This past August, I accepted a position at CARO.

What is your title and what do you do at CARO?

Nurse practitioner. I provide cancer survivorship care, follow up care, and support and symptom management for patients under active treatment.

How did you become a part of CARO?

Having worked in medical oncology in Montgomery many years ago, I have long been familiar with CARO’s stellar reputation among patients and staff. In August of this year, CARO began recruiting for a nurse practitioner, a new position for this practice. Simply put, it was a great fit from the start.

What do you like most about working at CARO?

The comradery among staff and the genuine desire of everyone to provide the highest level of patient care.

When you’re not at work, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

Spending time with my family and friends. Being outdoors. Riding the motorcycle with my hubby. I love to read and the coast is my happy place.

Additional information you want to include in your spotlight:

One of my greatest desires is to provide exceptional patient care. I am grateful for the opportunity to do so alongside an incredible team here at CARO.
